The problem space
Computershare Investor Services (CIS) has many tools for investors, covering company listings, registries, corporate actions, employee equity plans, and meetings and votes.
Republicast lets companies share sensitive documents with their shareholders. Customer expectations had moved on. With smartphones and tablets everywhere, a responsive product was essential to keep market share.
My role
As the design consultant for Computershare Communication Services (CCS), I managed one of the vendors behind the CIS suite. As product owner for Republicast, I led the upgrade to a mobile, responsive product.
Process & artifacts
- Requirements: I defined the requirements and set out a scope of works for the vendor to follow.
- Planning: I wrote a project plan to deliver with as little impact on production as possible.
- Iteration: We ran several rounds of requirements gathering, then UAT tracked in Jira.
- Design: I worked with the team at Reach, bringing in mobile-first improvements.

Impact
We released the product with stakeholder buy-in for the launch. It was a significant improvement, delivered with no time lost to the business.
